ROUGH SLEEPER SERVICES

Light for Life's Rough Sleeper Provision offers a range of services for individuals who are experiencing rough sleeping in the Borough of Sefton. Referrals can be made to the service via the Mainstay gateway system and also via Street Link.
The Outreach Team works across Sefton to identify rough sleepers and will make arrangements, where possible to access emergency accommodation. The service provides food, clothing and access to showers and clothes washing facilities. Referrals to clinical services will also be made where appropriate.

Sefton’s emergency accommodation spaces are located in Bootle and Southport. These will be secured on a priority basis. Individuals must agree to engage with the Rough Sleeper Service to develop a person-centred support plan, addressing the circumstances which have led to rough-sleeping and to find appropriate pathways to independence. Opportunities to explore accommodation in the private sector will be offered, along with further support.

Light for Life also coordinates the Annual Rough Sleeper Count on behalf of the local authority. Since the development of our services and interventions for Rough Sleepers, the annual number has been steadily reduced, despite the overall increase nationally.

The Rough Sleeper Team can be contacted through The Hub on:

 01704 501256 or 07918746042

NAVIGATOR SERVICE

The Navigator Service provides a comprehensive intensive support service to clients with medium to high risk complex needs who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service works in partnership with appropriate agencies and providers to ensure support is both coordinated and effective.

Clients will be supported to address their needs by providing a continued and consistent point of contact whilst assisting them in navigating the various pathways available to them and coordinating services. This could involve support to resolve benefit issues, debt, accessing clinical services and accommodation services in order for the client to be able to demonstrate independence that minimises the risk of accommodation placements breaking down.

Where health is a primary concern, clients will also be supported by Light for Life's specialist Health & Wellbeing Service.  Please see our Health & Wellbeing page for further information.

Referrals to the Navigator Service are made via Sefton's Mainstay system. For further information, please contact the Hub on 01704 501256
